The AHA Community Training Center of the Robert Packer Hospital, Bradford/Susquehanna EMS Council
As this regions largest provider of CPR instruction, the Community Training Center offers programs in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation, as well as Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training, First Aid, Heart Saver and BLS Instructor Development courses.

The Community Training Center adheres to all requirements of the American Heart Association regarding course testing and completion. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Course Completion Card.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support
The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course is designed to develop the resuscitation skills of physicians, physician assistants, nurses, paramedics, and respiratory therapists.
All students must submit copies of their current Healthcare Provider CPR card with their ACLS registration.
There are two types of ACLS courses offered:
One-day renewals are ONLY permitted at designated renewal programs, and are not permitted at the second day of a two-day program.
FEE:
$300 Non GHS Employee (with textbook for Initial or Expired ACLS card )
$225 Non GHS Employee (Renewal with Textbook)
$200 Non GHS Employee (Renewal without Textbook)
Experienced Provider One-Day Renewal Programs -
ACLS-EP: This is a new expanded course designed to challenge experienced providers rather than repeat information in the ACLS Provider Course. ACLS-EP teaches new and expanded information in the following pre-arrest areas: critical cardiovascular emergencies, toxicology, electrolyte imbalances and environmental emergencies not currently addressed in ACLS. It is strongly recommended that only those providers with a strong background in ACLS and who work in either the Critical Care or Emergency setting and work with the ACLS guidelines on a regular basis, should take this course.
Registration Requirement: Complete registrations must be received no later than two weeks prior to the course. If you do not receive confirmation ten (10) days prior to the class date, you must contact the Training Center at 570 882-6390 to confirm receipt of your registration.
Please enclose a copy of your current healthcare provider card and, if you are registering as a renewal, a copy of your current ACLS card. All incomplete registrations will be rejected and returned for completion.

Course Completion: The Community Training Center adheres to all requirements of the American Heart Association regarding course testing and completion. Upon successfully completing the course you will receive a letter of completion with documentation of attendance. Nursing Education contact hours will also be available.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course material, do not represent income to the Association.CPR EDUCATION - Heart Saver AED Program
Heart Saver AED Program is a 4-hour course that provides Automated External Defibrillator training to laypersons who are not health care providers. The training is available to police and fire departments, corporations and businesses, which allows laypersons to receive instruction and use Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) equipment. This course also teaches participants how to recognize a medical emergency, adult CPR training, first aid for choking victims, and the use of barrier devices to reduce the risk of infection. Private, on-site courses can be arranged for groups of six or more.

BLS Instructor Development
The BLS Instructor Development Program is designed to train interested candidates in the skills necessary to teach CPR to others, and certifies students as American Heart Association BLS Instructors. A current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card is required (a copy of the card must accompany registration form).
FEE: $200
Due to classroom space, some courses are limited to 18 registrants.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support

Important Information You Will Need to Know Regarding the Registration Process
ACLS/PALS/BLS class schedules are posted at www.bsems.org on the Training Page.
GHS departments may reserve slots for attendance. Student applications must be received by the EMS Council office 30 days prior class start date. If no application is received, the slot will be released to other students.
